Ahava L.

Occupational Therapist

Ahava is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience, graduating with Honours in 1999 from Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. Ahava has primarily worked in hospital settings with both acute care, complex medical rehab populations and rehabilitative and restorative rehab settings.

In her most recent position at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Ahava carried a large caseload of complex clients with multiple conditions and co-morbidities and acted as Fieldwork Coordinator for Occupational Therapy placements for university programs. Ahava has experience working at The Arthritis Program, formally part of Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Ahava’s approach to patient-centered care includes facilitating self-advocacy and self-management to help patients achieve their goals. Ahava’s treatment style includes creating meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients and is a strong proponent of collaborative team-based care.

In her free time, Ahava enjoys trying new recipes, playing board-games and hanging out with her friends and family.
