The Centre of Arthritis Excellence (CArE) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary program focused on improving the lives of people living with arthritis and associated conditions. We provide patient-centered care through collaborative treatment planning, education, and innovation. Our team supports individuals with conditions such as Inflammatory Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoporosis—empowering them through timely assessment, effective treatment, education, self-management strategies, and compassionate care.
Job Summary

As a Regulated Allied Health Provider, you’ll play a key role in delivering patient-centered care through collaborative assessments, education, and innovative treatment planning. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, skilled clinician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to advancing arthritis care through innovation, education, and teamwork and is dedicated to professional growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead intake and triage of referrals, assess disease status, and present findings to the care team and rheumatologists.
- Collaborate with rheumatologists and other team members to provide coordinated care
- Empower patients through education and self-management strategies for chronic conditions such as Inflammatory Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoporosis.
- Facilitate individual and group education sessions, both in-person and virtually.
- Contribute to student mentorship, research initiatives, and community outreach.
Job Requirements
Education
- Must be licensed and in good standing with an Ontario regulatory college (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Nurse, Chiropractor or equivalent)
- Completion of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Arthritis Care (ACPAC) program qualification is preferred.
- Training in diversity, equity, and inclusion is considered an asset.
Experience:
- Experience in arthritis care is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in patient education and disease self-management is preferred.
- Experience working in community healthcare settings is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a transdisciplinary healthcare team to support both individual and group patient care.
- Knowledge of community resources to support patients with arthritis and other chronic conditions.
Leadership & Professional Contribution
- Strong leadership skills to support CArE’s programs, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to contribute to professional development through abstracts, posters, publications, and presentations.
Patient-Centered Care & Communication
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring patients are active participants in setting and achieving their treatment goals.
- Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

- Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to gather information, listen empathetically, and respond with a patient-centered approach.
- Skilled in delivering group-based presentations for patient education

Centre of Arthritis Excellence

The Center of Arthritis Excellence (CArE) is currently seeking Community volunteers to serve on our Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC).
About CArE: We are community-based non-for-profit center for arthritis and associated conditions to provide patients with timely assessment, effective treatment, and patient education grounded in self-management principles.
About PFAC: The PFAC is an advisory role providing input and recommendations on programs, services and policies leading to better patient outcomes. It brings a patient voice to the table fostering a culture of patient and family centered care within the organization. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients living with arthritis.
Requirements:
- Candidate should be a patient, family, caregiver, or support person at CArE with experience / knowledge in inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, or fibromyalgia.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required
- Technically capable with email, virtual meetings, and electronic documents
- Enthusiasm for bringing your voice to the table and making a positive impact
- Experience in committees / councils / working groups is preferred
Training:
- Onboarding and orientation will be provided
Time Commitment:
- This is a three (3) year volunteer appointment with the possibility of renewal.
- Candidates should have the time and energy to participate in 10 virtual meetings per year (typically). In addition, there will be opportunities beyond meetings to be involved with CArE staff to shape and improve our programs and services.

Join our transdisciplinary team at the Centre of Arthritis Excellence (CArE), where your expertise will directly improve the lives of people living with arthritis. This role gives you direct involvement in work that supports people living with arthritis. You will join a focused team of healthcare professionals where you will help improve how the Centre of Arthritis Excellence (CArE) presents its programs, education, and resources to the public. Your work will strengthen our overall marketing, communication and brand awareness as well as our digital presence and help people find the support they need.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain and update our WordPress website, ensuring functionality and security.
- Perform routine web maintenance, troubleshoot layout issues, and manage plugins.
- Create engaging digital content and design graphics for web and print.
- Develop promotional materials for programs and events.
- Manage social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X) and track engagement metrics.
- Design materials for therapeutic education workshops, including handouts and slides.
- Support marketing and communication initiatives, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.
- Organize and maintain digital files.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education
- Diploma or degree in digital media, communications, marketing, graphic design, or a related program.
- Training in WordPress, web design, or digital communication through a college program or recognized certificate.
- Training in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in digital communication, web support, marketing support, or content production.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress site updates and maintenance.
- Proven ability to create social media content and basic graphic design.
- Experience in healthcare or non-profit settings is an asset.
- Experience working in an office or community setting.
Required Skills
- Strong WordPress experience.
- Skills in web layout, image editing, and graphic design tools.
- Skill in writing short, clear content.
- Skill in social media management.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content.
- Knowledge of basic SEO practices.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to follow deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication for in-person work.
